As opposed to other recently released phones, the LG Encore is more affordable. It costs only $49.99 with a 2 year commitment to AT&T's service. Without the contract, it costs $199.99. The 2 year contract will require a minimum $20 per month messaging service.

While LG Encore doesn’t exactly have the extreme high capabilities of the latest android phones and iPhone models, for a mid range phone, it is pretty cool. It has a 3 inch touch screen with 400 x 240 pixels resolution, a 3MP camera with 2X zoom, and live video capture and playback. It has 3G capability, Bluetooth connectivity, USB connectivity, hands free speakers, and is TTY/TTD compatible. It is also enabled for EDGE high speed data network and is FOTA capable. There is GSM/GPRS capability. The onboard memory is 32MB and it has a microSD slot which allows you to expand its memory to 16GB. The battery capacity is 950 mAh which allows you 3 hours talk time and up to 10 days standby time.

And then you have all those nice capabilities which add to your phone experience. The LG Encore has a music player which supports all common music file formats including MP3 and WMA. You could subscribe to music services or listen to radio. It also has a customizable equalizer. It has mobile email which allows you to connect to personal email such as AOL, yahoo, and also Windows Live. It of course has a web browser. The video share facility allows you to send live or recorded video. You also have all the standard phone facilities such as games, graphics, ring tones, themes, mobile banking etc. It also has the nice multitasking facility which allows you to use voice and text simultaneously.

You could buy LG Encore Accessories from the AT&T store. The compatible accessories include micro USB charging cable, At&T zero charger kit, car charger with universal micro USB port, Bluetooth headsets from Motorola and Plantronics and memory cards from San Disk. LG Encore cases, screen protectors, stereo ear buds etc are also available from At&T. You could get backup LG Encore batteries and accessories from other stores as well. The compatible backup battery options available include Ventev PowerCELL, Naztech n301 battery and Icipio OFFGRID battery. And Amzer has come out with a variety of Encore cases, including horizontal and vertical cases and belt clips so you do not have to worry about protecting your phone.

If you prefer a normal and functional phone with web browsing, video streaming, camera, music and radio, then the LG Encore may be the phone for you. It is almost half the price of smartphones, iPhone models and android phones, but gives you many of the facilities offered by these phones. At its price, it is really a very good cell phone to have.
